Oppo announced the RENO
4 series in China along with Enco W51, Oppo Band, and other products. To
everyone's surprise, these smartphones run ColorOS 7.2, the brand new version
of the company's mobile software. These are the new features that bring them along:
As the name suggests,
this is a feature for the camera to shoot good quality photos in very low light
conditions. The company claims that the Super Night video mode feature will
increase exposure in the video by 74% at night or in very low light conditions.
Also, this feature will improve clarity by up to 33% in Night Video.
OPPO smartphones come
pre-loaded with an app called smartphones SLOOP ’. The app allows users to edit
videos on their phones for a variety of video-sharing platforms. The ColorOS
7.2 update offers a new movie mode that can shoot cinematic with a 21: 9 aspect
ratio. Users can adjust up to 10 movie filters, multiple templates, and
parameters such as exposure, shutter speed, and more.
The new ColorOS 7.2 will
adapt to the daily habits of the user that they use regularly. By doing this,
the feature ensures that you have enough power to use a preferred set of apps.
While commonly used apps will be put to sleep. The company claims that this
feature can improve nighttime battery consumption by up to 10 percent.
This is a feature for
scenarios when the phone's battery is really low. Users can activate super
power saver mode to stop everything except the most important features like
calls or messaging. Oppo claims that when the phone is in this mode, 5% of the
battery can be spent on 1.5 hours of messaging on WeChat.
This new feature on the
ColorOS 7.2 update will help preserve digital copies of old or blurred photos.
The feature will use AI to automatically repair pictures by removing blur,
noise, or blur in older images.
ColorOS will now be able
to launch applications in the background before learning your usage habits and
tapping on the app icon. This feature reduces app startup time, providing a
faster experience.
OPPO Labs
Oppo Labs is somewhat
similar to Realme Labs. Which is coming to ColorOS 7.2 so that users can
experience upcoming and experimental features while they are being tested.
Oppo is one of the very
few companies that allow third parties to access the SDK. The ColorOS 7.2
update will bring the Camera SDK (software development kit). This allows
third-party app developers to use the capabilities of all cameras. The SDK, for
example, would allow apps such as Instagram, Snapchat to use Oppo's HDR and
other modes. To take pictures directly from within a third-party app, use an
ultrasound lens, or use any camera lens other than the primary.
ColorOS 7.2 Rollout in India
As of the rollout
timeline, there is no official word yet. Oppo states that the new ColorOS 7.2
is exclusive to the Reno 4 series for now. Oppo is still rolling out ColorOS 7
to older devices running ColorOS 6.1. They are yet to announce which smartphones
will receive this latest version.
