TikTok Missing? Instagram Reels is here to help you
entertain and unleash your creativity through short videos. Now in India TikTok
has been banned, Instagram Reels has the opportunity to become its most popular
short format video replacement. We have already seen apps made by Indian
developers such as Mitteron and Spark, TikTok tries to capture the audience and
now big guns are stepping into it. Instagram is owned by Facebook and already
has millions of users in India. With the reels, this may be the most serious
challenge for TikTok.
How to make Instagram Reels
Creating Instagram Reels is quite simple, but the most important
step is how to get Reels on your Instagram account. Facebook is still pushing
people out of the reels in India.
If you follow these steps, reel making is quite simple.
• Click on the camera icon on the top-left.
• At the bottom, you will see options like Live, Story and
Reels. Tap the reels.
• Now you can create short videos on Instagram Reels. The
maximum length of any video clip is 15 seconds at this time. We will walk you
through all the options in the next few steps.
• To record Instagram reels, tap on the large white circle
icon. The same button also lets you stop recording.
• Before starting recording you can add some effects via the
icon on the left. Right arrow icon that looks like a play button to adjust the
speed of video recording. You can record videos up to 0.3x at a slow speed or
speed them up to 3x.
• To add effects to your video, tap on the smiley button and
swipe right over the large white circle. This will show you all the available
effects and you can choose the one you want. The effect icon appears inside the
large white circle and you can tap it to start recording.
• Instagram reels allow you to set a timer of three seconds
before recording any clip. Tap the timer icon on the left and set the duration
for your clip (0.1 to 15 seconds) and tap on the set timer. When you start
recording, you will see a three-second timer on the screen before the video
starts.
• Finally, you can also add music to it by tapping the music
icon on the left. The best thing here is that you can see the song on the
screen and choose any part of the song you want to use. TikTok has allowed you
a specific clip of just 30 seconds for each song, but on Instagram reels, you
have the freedom to choose your favorite parts of any track. You can add music
before recording a video to create a lip-sync video, or after recording to give
it a cool soundtrack.
